Our legacy
From Crusade to national family
VEYM is more than a youth group. It is a Catholic movement that educates young people to be virtuous people and good Christians, proclaims the Gospel through charity, and protects Vietnamese faith and culture in the diaspora.
- 1915
Eucharistic Crusade begins
The Children’s Eucharistic Crusade begins in France, planting the seed of a worldwide movement of youth united to the Eucharist.
- 1929
Rooted in Vietnam
The movement is introduced in Hà Nội and grows through dioceses, eventually becoming the Vietnamese Eucharistic Youth Movement.
- 1975
Faith carried into exile
After the fall of Saigon, chapters form in refugee camps and Vietnamese Catholic communities abroad—keeping prayer, culture, and service alive.
- 1984
VEYM-USA takes shape
The Movement is formally organized in the United States, building a national structure of chapters, leagues, and leadership formation.

A living national family
Over 25,000 youth, 2,500+ youth leaders, and 130+ chapters across 12 leagues continue the work of formation, vocation, and charitable service.
